Akti Palace is 4 km outside Kardamena, which offers lots of bars, restaurants, shops and a small harbor. Kos Town is in 30 min distance with a lot of archeological sites. The airport is a 10-min- drive (12 km). We offer a free shuttle bus several times per day to Kardamena, and there is a public bus stop in front of the hotel. Taxis can be ordered via reception at all times.
The Harbour is located in the capitol, Kos Town, approx. 30 km from the Akti Beach Club. There are regular ferry lines connecting Kos and Athens. There also regular boats to Rhodos, Simi, Kalymnos, Leros, Nissyros and Turkey.
The international Airport of Kos is located at approx. a 10-minute drive (12km) from the Akti Beach Club. There are regular international charter flights to and from most European airports, mostly during the summer season as well as scheduled flights to Athens through the whole year.

Kos is the third biggest island of the Dodecanes. The island of Hippocrates is located between Turkey, Kalymnos and Nissyros, so trips to other Islands and even to Asia can be done by day excursions.
With only the size of 287,2 km² it is easy to discover and offers sandy beaches, a lot of untouched nature, but also points of historical interest. Kos is the perfect place for holidays: No matter if you want to relax or for active holidays and sightseeing.
Kos Town is the capital of the island. It combines the ancient, medieval and modern times and many archaeological sites are integrated into the cityscape.
Daily excursions to the neighbor islands and Turkey are offered from the harbor, which is located next to the impressive Castle of the Knights of St. John.
The Old town invites you with narrow streets and lots of shops, taverns and cafés.
It was a theater in ancient times and used for performances, competitions or council meetings offering seats up to 750 visitors.
Under the rows of seats were a number of rooms that were used as shops or workrooms. Now they are open with a small exhibition. The Odeon was discovered in 1929 by the Italian archaeologist Laurenzi together with the Roman baths of the Casa Romana, which is located next the Odeon.
The western archaeological zone is located just opposite the Odeon and when it was excavated, it revealed some of the most important structures of Kos.
The highlight of the biggest exaction area of Kos, is the Nymphaeum from the 3rd century BC. The fountain system, which once served as an ancient public toilet.
In addition, there are countless other ancient attractions waiting to be discovered.
World famous and a “must – seen”. The Asklepion is an ancient medical center placed 4 km outside of Kos town, close to Platani.
It dates from the first half of the 3rd century BC, built to honor the god of health and medicine, Asklepios, after the death of the famous ancient Greek physician, Hippocrates. Hippocrates was born on Kos is still well-known until today. The first terrace is enclosed by a portico which probably was a medical school. You also find there a complex of Roman baths, dating from the 3rd century AC. The second terrace holds the oldest structure of this construction, the ruins of an altar dating from the 4th century BC. The area at the south where patients expected to see Asklepios in their dream and to be cured through it. Next to the ruins of two small temples, are some restored columns belonging to the Ionic Temple of Apollo. On the third terrace are the remains of the Doric Temple of Asklepion, and a church dedicated to Panagia Tarsou, which was built during the early Christian period.

The picturesque village of Zia is the highest village of the island, located on the Mount Dikeos.
The view of the village is stunning and makes it to the most famous spot for sunsets.
You can stroll through the little village with the quaint white-blue traditional houses.
All the taverns serve delicious Greek dishes, which taste even better combined with the amazing view. In the narrow streets there are shops offering handmade products, spices and souvenirs.
The small port of the village connects several times per day the island Kalymnos with Kos. The traditional charm and the long, wide sandy beach makes the village to a popular tourist resort with fish taverns right by the sea and breathtaking sunsets.
It is the only windmill of the Dodecanes which still operates and it is a very popular photo motive. The building is around 150 years old and able of grounding around 600 to 800 kg on windy days. It can be used by local farmers to grind their wheat in the traditional way. The ground level of the mill has been renovated and looks like the original basement.

Kardamena, was a traditional fishing village for years, now it is cosmopolitan resort, which attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world every summer season. The landscape consists trees on one side and 6 km of beautiful coastline with crystal clear water and sandy beaches on the other. Along the coast there are organized and free beaches and a range of water sports. Kardamena has many options: Cafés and Ouzerias, restaurants with local and international specialties, bars and discos. You find as well numerous shopping opportunities in the narrow streets of the village. While strolling on the promenade of Kardamena, you should definitely visit the permanent folklore exhibition and the traditional Nautical Museum. From the port of Kardamena you can visit the neighboring picturesque island of Nissyros with its volcano or boat trips to well-known beaches of the island.
Plaka is located Antimachia and Kefalos, close to the airport. The forest is home to many free roaming peacocks. Next to the peacocks you will meet cats and if you are lucky some turtles.
Plaka is very popular with locals at the week-ends for BBQs with friends and family. The shade of the trees makes it even on hot summer days to a cool and relaxing place.
This well-known beach is probably the most famous beach of Kos. Crystal clear water and fine sand gives it a Caribbean touch. Comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas make it a perfect place to chill and relax. A watersport station offers a big variety of fun activities for the whole family.
